Darshan by Longchamp

Longchamp has introduced for some time now their Spring Collection called Darshan, and even thou the Spring season is almost gone and we should be expecting for a Summer bag collection, i say we take another look at the Darshan bag line as we will most probably find something that is worth carrying into the Summer with us.

The Darshan collection is so named as it is inspired by India’s tradition. The line transports us directly into the heart of Hindu culture. Bearers of many messages, flower petal necklaces are laid down as offerings to the Gods during ceremonies.

Greeting is normally done with the showering of rose petals, hence this is prominent in all of the bags’ designs. The bags set features in white, symbol of purity, associated with Sunshine Yellow or Indian Pink flowers.

The collection also includes small pouches. Longchamp bags come in different sizes ranging from small to large. You will find that the design of the new collection has a tint of similarities with some of the previous ones, like the famous Le Pliage or the Imperial line.

The model for the Darshan Ad Campaign is Audrey Marnay lending her beauty to the elegance of Longchamp. While in seasons past, Kate Moss, served as the face of Lonchamp - and even parlayed her talent into a collection of her own handbags - for Spring 2011, the French company is transitioning to their own French beauty. Chosen for her “quintessentially French aesthetic but international chic” appearance, Audrey posed for Patrick Demarchelier to display the inspiration of travels to India. A duo of campaign images juxtapose her bright red hair with calming blue waters, inciting day dreams of any vacation spot we’d love to jet off to immediately.
So pick you`re bag and let`s welcome the warm and long expected Summer.
